Did you receive a text message from us?
I’ve received a text message from The Pensions Regulator is it legit? We are now sending re-declaration reminders to certain employers via SMS text messages to support them in completing their automatic enrolment duties on time.
Our text messages will only include:
- your re-declaration deadline
- a quick link to declaration of compliance
- an option to ‘opt out’ of receiving text messages
TPR will never ask for personal or financial information when we send text messages.
Our text messages will always be sent from: PensionsReg
An example of a genuine text message from TPR:
Dear employer/adviser. Your re-declaration for automatic re-enrolment is due by XX/XX/XX. Act now, go to tpr.gov.uk/text. Reply STOP to 65654 to opt out.
We will only send text messages to employers with re-enrolment duties and where our records show they have yet to complete and submit their re-declaration of compliance. If you completed your re-declaration on the same day as you received the text message and it has been successfully submitted, you do not need to do anything further.
If you sign in to our declaration of compliance website, you will be able to see the status of your re-declaration in your dashboard.
You will receive a confirmation email approximately 24 hours after submitting the form, and the person named in the employer contact field will receive the confirmation email within 48 hours.
What you need to know to get started
You will need your PAYE reference and either your letter code or your accounts office reference number to get started.
Whether you have staff to put back into your scheme or not, you must complete a re-declaration of compliance to tell us how you have met your duties. Remember, re-enrolment and re-declaration are your legal duties and if you don't act you could be fined.
