The Pensions Regulator

How much money will I need to pay into the pension scheme?

The law sets a minimum level of contributions to be paid. At the moment the total contribution is 5% of your personal care assistant’s earnings, with at least 2% coming from you, the employer.

From 6 April 2019, your personal care assistant must receive minimum pension contributions of 8%, with at least 3% coming from you, the employer.

You and your personal care assistant can choose to pay more than the minimum if you wish.

You can also use our online contributions calculator to help work out your costs for your personal care assistant.
