If a member of staff asks to join my pension scheme during the postponement period, when do I start paying money into the scheme?

If any of your staff write to you asking to join a pension scheme during the postponement period, you must put them into one once you have received their request.

You need to assess what each member of staff earns and how old they are on the date you received the request to join.

If the member of staff is aged between 16 up to 74, and their earnings are over £120 a week (£520 a month), you’ll need to provide a pension scheme for them and start paying money in to the scheme from the beginning of the next pay period.
