I’m a new employer. What if I pay my staff less than £116 per week and/or don’t have a PAYE scheme. Does automatic enrolment still apply to me?
Yes, automatic enrolment does still apply to you. You must write to your staff to tell them how automatic enrolment applies to them. You must also complete a declaration of compliance to tell us how you’ve met your duties. If any of your staff write to ask you to put them into a pension scheme, you must then put them in a scheme, but you don’t have to pay into it.
If you start to pay your staff more at any time, you will have other duties.
